Isadora Leidenfrost

Isadora Leidenfrost

 

Project Assistant

 

Isadora Leidenfrost is a Ph.D. student in Design Studies with a focus on History of Textiles. She began in the fall of 2007. Isadora is currently the Webmaster and graphic designer for the Collection. This new website is Isadora’s creation. In addition to these duties, she has also organized and implemented two annual Ruth Ketterer Harris Textile lectures, assisted curatorial staff with cataloguing and inventory of objects, and prepared for and presented objects to students and faculty.

As well as acting as a project assistant and full time Ph.D. student, Isadora has owned and operated Soulful Media, her film production company since 2004 and has produced 10 films since she began. Betsy Tuttle

 

Betsy Tuttle

 

Betsy Tuttle received her MFA in Textile Design from the School of Human Ecology and was the first director of SoHE's Design Gallery. She focused her thesis on crochet and has since worked in a variety of techniques. She has taught the Design Studies "off-loom" class for Prof. Sheehan. Betsy is a highly accomplished textile artist with a national reputation whose work is included in the HLATC. She has returned to catalog for the Collection this year and will be teaching a crocheted-bag workshop for the HLATC in February 2010.


Jen Moore

 

Teaching Assistant

 

Jennifer Moore is a PhD student in the Design Studies program whose research focuses primarily on late 20th century Western fashion. She is a graduate of Fordham University (BA, Philosophy and MS, Education), Hunter College (MA, Art History) and the Sotheby’s Institute of Art (American Arts Certificate). She has worked in high-need New York City public schools as well as in international auction houses. Jennifer is currently a Senior Lead Instructor in the Fashion Design department of the Art Institute of New York City where she lectures on the history of fashion. She resides in New York City with her husband and her bulldog.

Project Assistant

 

Malka Salomon is a masters student in the Design Studies department, studying the history of clothing and textiles. As a project assistant at the Textile Collection, she is responsible for producing the newsletter and organizing the annual Ruth Ketterer Harris textile lecture. Malka is a graduate of Columbia College (BA, Art History) and MATC (AA, Graphic Design and Illustration.) In addition to her work as a graphic designer, Malka has worked at the Fashion Columbia Study Collection and interned at the costume collection of the Chicago History Museum.
